Match scorecard

Hoylandswaine lifted the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy in their first season in the competition with a 35-run win over Woodhouse Grange at Wrenthorpe.

The 2012 Huddersfield League champions were made to fight all the way for their victory by the determined York Senior League champions.

Overseas player Michael Cranmer was named man of the match after making an unbeaten 71 which helped Hoylandswaine post a competitive score of 211-9 on a damp pitch.

Cranmer arrived at the wicket with his side in some trouble at 60-4, but he didn’t let the situation trouble him.
He put on 68 for the fifth wicket with Ryan Robinson who made a patient 57 and then dominated the later stages of the innings hitting three sixes and four fours.

David Suddaby (3-57) was the most successful Woodhouse Grange bowler on an afternoon when all the bowlers were backed up by some excellent fielding.

Woodhouse Grange looked to be progressing well while Tom Young (46) and Chris Bilton (29) were at the wicket, but Hoylandswaine kept plugging away and  eventually bowled out their determined rivals for 176 with Ben Potter taking 4-18. Robinson (2-18) also bowled an important spell in the middle of the innings.
