Methley knocked holders Elsecar out of this season's competition when they recorded a comfortable 88-run win in a high-scoring game in South Yorkshire.

Opener Richard Foster was the star performer for the All Rounder Central Yorkshire League champions with a magnificent 125.

His innings contained seven sixes and 12 fours and he was was joined in a magnificent third-wicket stand of 143 by left-hander Fahid Rehman, who made a fine 93.

Methley's total of 313-8 was always going to be a tall order and when Sohail Raz struck two early blows, Elsecar were in trouble.

Scott Jones (61) and David Handley (50) tries to rally their side but the asking rate was too high and the challenge just too great for them.

Methley will be away to the National Village and York Senior League champions Woodhouse Grange in the next round.
