Steve Raistrick was a great servant of Pudsey Congs, the Bradford League and the Dales Council League

 

 

The funeral of former Bradford League secretary Steve Raistrick will be held at St Andrew's Church, Pudsey on Wednesday, March 8, 12.30pm.

Afterwards therer will be a wake at Pudsey Congs Cricket Club where guests are invited to wear bright shirts.

Steve passed away ton February 18 and will be sorely missed by all who knew in the West Yorkshire Cricket Community.

Steve, who served as league secretary for ten years before stepping down in 2015 due to ill health, devoted many years of his life to cricket administration.

At club level he filled a number of key roles at Pudsey Congs including secretary, and most recently club president, a post he was proud to hold.

Steve had a huge impact on the administration of the Dales Council League where he served as chairman for many years.

It is a mark of the respect in which he was held by his colleagues at Pudsey Congs that they are planning to hold a tribute for him on Monday evening.

Bradford Premier League chairman David Young said: "This is incredibly sad news and our thoughts are with Steve's family and friends at this time.

"Steve had a great love for cricket and made a big contribution for Pudsey Congs, the Bradford League and the Dales Council

"He had a cheery personality and will be missed by all who knew him."
