Gomersal v Batley
Batley’s batsmen were in good form as they guided their side to a comfortable five-wicket win at Oxford Road.
Haseeb Hasmi (56), Sufyan Patel (51) and Umar Mirza (43) helped them overhaul the home side’s 207-8 despite the efforts of Ryan Kitson (3-37). Gomersal’s innings was dominated by their experience batsmen Javid Umarji (71) and Tony Blain who made 41 before retiring hurt. Asif Hussain (3-24 was the best Batley bowler.
Jer Lane v East Bierley
Jer Lane marked their first game in the top flight with a win. After dismissing East Bierley for 119 they romped home for the loss of just three wickets.
Adnan Mahmood (40no) and Arslaan Mahmood (33no) steered their side home. Arslaan Mahmood had earlier taken 3-33 as only Hamza Saeed (39) made an impression for the visitors.
Hanging Heaton v New Farnley
New Farnley opener Joe Pyrah hit five sixes and ten fours while making a fine 114 but even that was not enough to save his side from a 29-run defeat against the side who beat them to the Premier Division title in 2021.
Seamer Benn Raynor (5-38) is the man who ensured New Farnley did not overhaul Hanging Heaton’s 217-7 which featured 47 from Finn Morgan and 44 by Bobby McFarlane. Spinner Sam Barraclough (4-48) posed the main threat.
Pudsey Congs v Pudsey St Lawrence
Pudsey Congs will want to forget their first match back in the top flight after going down by 125 runs against their local rivals.
Adam Frost (5-11) put the shivers up the Congs side as they were bowled out for 69 when pursuing the St Lawrence score of 194-7 which featured 85 from David Heslop and 35 from Brian Devine. Adam Patrick took 3-56 for Congs.
Bowling Old Lane v Woodlands
Liam Collins (75) and Josh Griffin (6-40) were the outstanding performers as Woodlands defeated Bowling Old Lane by 55 runs.
Thanks to Collins, Woodlands managed to post 161 despite the efforts of Fahad Khan (6-44). Old Lane never threatened to challenge that score once Griffin got to work.

Yeadon v Great Preston
Patrick Parker impressed with 5-8 as Yeadon bowled out Great Preston for 70 to secure victory by 58 runs. Yeadon had also struggled for runs and had to work hard for their 128-9. Ian McDermott (3-21) and Luke Kane (3-26) were the bowlers who found the conditions to their liking.
Cleckheaton v Methley
Gordon Thomson (4-31) and Robert Clegg (4-49) bowled Methley to a 15-run win at Moorend. They ensured that the efforts of Babar Malik (44) and Elliot Hallas (34) did not lead to success for the home side.Three bowlers, Sam Bailey (3-27), Hallas (3-14) and James Ives (3-40) shared the wickets in the Methley score of 131.
Farsley v Lightcliffe
Ryan Blackburn produced a fine all-round performance to help Farsley to victory by six wickets in a low-scoring game at Red Lane. After taking 3-27 and backing up the efforts of William Meers (4-26) as Lightcliffe struggled to 104-9, Blackburn made 66 to lead his side’s romp to victory.
Carlton v Baildon
Sam Kelly took 6-26 as Baildon bowled out Carlton for 121 on their way to a five-wicket win. Only Michael Hodgkins (35) made an impression for the home side. Baildon’s successful run chase was spearheaded by Simon McDermott who scored an unbeaten 69.
Bradford & Bingley v Hartshead Moor
Archie Barraclough set Bradford & Bingley on course for their two-wicket by picking up 6-39 as Hartshead Moor were bowled out for 160 at Wagon Lane. Skipper Martin Ellis (52) top scored for Hartshead Moor while Matthew Keeton (51) and Warren Allitt (33) were the batsmen who ensured Bradford & Bingley edged home with eight wickets down.
Townville v East Ardsley
Newly promoted Townville made a great start to the new season with a crushing win by 10 wickets which was sealed with an unbroke opening stand of 190 between skipper Kieran Samuels (94no) and Steve Walton (63no). In a match where only four wickets fell, Tom Daniels (92no) and Ben Smith (61no) shared an unbroken 146 for the fifth wicket after East Ardsley had slumped to 33-4.

Ossett v Altofts
Darren Sharp (6-28) and Adam Perry (4-46) provided the cutting edge to the Altofts attack as Ossett were skittled for 74. Ossett’s plight would have been even worse had Aaron Dyer not made 46 as the visitors romped to an eight-wicket success.
Brighouse v Wakefield St Michael’s
Brighouse’s first game since promotion ended in disappointment as they were skittled out for 61 on their way to defeat by six wickets. Rayn Shah (5-33) and Cavan Connolly (4-23) were the bowlers who did the damage for Saints.
Hopton Mills v Birstall
Dominic Cleghorn held the key to Birstall’s seven-wicket win. He took 5-26 as Hopton Mills were rolled over for 97 and made 43 in Birstall’s successful reply. Alex Drake (3-10) backed up his efforts.
Sandal v Liversedge
Liversedge were sunk by Joshua Goose (5-19) and Phil Yeadon (3-24) as they were dismissed for 73 in their 91-run defeat at Sandal. The home side’s score of 164 included 46 from Usman Ilyas while Mohammed Lorgat (5-21) was the best Liversedge bowler.
Buttershaw St Paul’s v Keighley
In a division littered with low scores St Paul’s produced the lowest as they were rushed out for 58. Ben Hemsley (5-12) led the way for Keighley who lost four wickets before Hammy Shahzad (30no) got them over the line.
Undercliffe v Northowram Field
Lewis Moor made an unbeaten 48 to steer Northowram Fields to victory by five wickets at Intake Road. The home side could only manage 93 when they batted first as Jason Smith (4-13) and Todd Reeday (4-42) kept them in check.

Scholes v Wrenthorpe
Majid Khan scored 77 and took 5-16 as Scholes opened their campaign with a 32-run win. Neil Kellett (48) gave support to Khan as Scholes made 168 despite Wrenthorpe’s Patrick Green producing the opening day’s best bowling figures of 7-35. Skipper Nathan Ellis top scored with 39 in Wrenthorpe’s 136 as Khan impressed with the ball.
Crossflatts v Windhill & Daisy Hill
Dan Trowers hit a superb 104, three sixes and 15 fours, as Crossflatts made 226-7 on their way to an 88-run win over Windhill & Daisy Hill.
Heckmondwike & Carlinghow v Gildersome & Farnley Hill
Gav Dyson took 4-41 as Gildersome & Farnley Hill restricted Heckmondwike & Carlinghow to 133-8 as they secured a win by 15 runs. Rian Hoey (44) top scored in Gildersome & Farnley Hill’s 148-6.
East Leeds v Hunslet Nelson
Shamraiz Hussain took 5-38 as East Leeds dismissed Hunslet Nelson for 125 to secure a win by 49 runs. Hassan Mushtaq (50) and Shaan Ahmed (41) were top scorers in East Leeds’ 174-9. Joshua Morris (4-40) was Nelson’s best bowler.
Adwalton v Spen Victoria
Alex Leadbeater proved to be a big hit on the opening day as he struck 10 sixes and 12 fours while making a career-best 136 for Spen Victoria as they scored 254-8 in their 35-run win at Adwalton. Leadbeater cut loose after skipper Peter Jackson (63) had got the visitors’ innings off to a good start. Subhan Butt made 72 for Adwalton before they were bowled out for 219 with Mohammed Hussain taking 4-50.
Rodley v Crossbank Methodists
Crossbank Methodists were dismissed for just 19 with six extras being their top scorer as Rodley’s Alex Wilson (4-5) and Paul Brearey (3-5) bowled their side to an 82-run win.
