Bankfoot face biggest T20 Cup test

Bankfoot face biggest T20 Cup test

Bankfoot will be facing their toughest test to date as they bid to strengthen their challenge for a place in the semi-finals of the Gordon Rigg T20 Group A Cup.

They take on Woodlands at Wickets Close and know they will have to be at their best if they are to notch up their third Pool Two win.

Bankfoot currently top the table with 38 points while Woodlands have 29 and will overtake their rivals if they win tonight.

East Bierley, who opened with a fine win at New Farnley before losing to Bankfoot, are at home to Hartshead Moor and know that they need to win to keep their slim hopes alive.

Pudsey Congs, three times winners of the competition, currently head Pool Three and face a tricky test against Farsley at Red Lane.

Farsley along with Birstall who play at home to Pudsey St Lawrence will be looking to eat into Congs’ lead as they look to stake a claim for a semi-final spot. Morley, who have no game, are also very much in contention.

Holders Hanging Heaton have no game so the winners of the clash between Carlton and Townville have the chance to eat into their 21-point lead. Methley will also be looking for a lift as they take on Ossett.

Group B Cup
There is no doubt about the top game in the Group B Cup – the clash between 2019 winners Jer Lane and the current holders Northowram Fields.

The two sides met in the 2019 final with Jer Lane coming out on top so Northowram Fields will be keen for revenge.

Whoever wins the clash will be favourites to reach the last four as Poll Three winners and it promises to be a hard-fought encounter.

Windhill & Daisy Hill host Rodley in the same pool with both sides chasing their first win. Rodley were semi-finalists in the Group A Cup in 2019.

Sandal, beaten finalists last year, host Wakefield St Michael’s in Pool One needing a win to keep their challenge alive. Their opponents, beaten semi-finalists in the 2019 Group A Cup, currently lie second to Great Preston who have no game. Hunslet Nelson host Altofts with both sides looking for a much-needed victory.

With Pool Two leaders, East Ardsley not in action, the winners of the clash between Gildersome & Farnley Hill and Crossbank Methodists can take over at the top. Heckmondwike & Carlinghow and Hopton Mills meet in the remaining game.
