There will be three Division One teams in Monday night’s semi-final draw in the Gordon Rigg Priestley Shield after another scorching hot day for cricket.
Pudsey Congs, Farsley and Cleckheaton will go into the hat alongside holders New Farnley and Woodlands who could not play their quarter-final due to Covid-19.
Division One leaders Congs and Cleckheaton overcame Premier Division sides Pudsey St Lawrence and Morley respectively, while Farsley defeated the last remaining Division Two outfit Birstall.
An unbeaten 46 from Mark Ferguson proved to be decisive as Congs recovered from 31-5 to win the Pudsey derby by four wickets.
Only young Ricky Priestley with 49 was able to make an impression when St Lawrence were bowled out for 111 by a tidy Congs attack in which Sabir Mahmood took 3-16.
Opener Yusuf Malik (52) was supported by Richard Noble (32no) and Elliot Hallas (32no) as Cleckheaton eased past Morley’s 163-8 with four wickets down.
Aryan Singh, who had scored a century while on loan to Gildersome & Farnley Hill on Saturday, top scored for Morley with 55. James Ives returned the tidy figures of 3-23.
Birstall’s hopes of reaching the last four were wrecked when they were dismissed for just 87. Bobby McFarlane made 30 but lacked support as Andrew Sims took 4-11. Ryan Blackburn continued his good form for Farsley with 34.
The draw for the semi-finals will be published on the league website at 7pm on Monday evening.
