Gomersal boost their survival hopes


Premier Division
East Bierley v Gomersal
Gomersal climbed out of the Premier Division relegation positions with a seven-wicket win over East Bierley who have replaced them in the bottom two. Ryan Kitson (5-54) and Liam Grant (3-37) bowled out East Bierley for 189 with Sam Wilby (60) and Wayne Robinson (46) providing the bulk of the run.
Gomersal eased to their target with Javid Umarji (63no), Craig Woodhead (50) and Liam Grant (40) all making important contributions.
Pudsey St Lawrence v Morley
Pudsey St Lawrence climbed into third place with a 34-run win over bottom team Morley. Aaron Day (66), Brian Devine (40) and Liam Phillips (38) helped St Lawrence to make 213-8 before Josh Dracup (4-31), Adam Frost (3-32) and Ricky Priestley (3-47) bowled out Morley for 179. Christian Bianci (32) was Morley’s top scorer while Harish Krishnesh (3-46) was their most successful bowler.
Woodlands v Hanging Heaton
Woodlands’ title hopes suffered a blow as defending champions Hanging Heaton beat them by 41 runs. The only consolation for them was that they secured six bonus points to move level with leaders Jer Lane who were not playing.
Will Rich (46), Dan Clifton (33) and Craig Russell (30), helped Hanging Heaton to make 201-6 despite the efforts of Kieran Rodger (3-34) and Josh Griffin (3-39). Woodlands could only make 160 in reply with Kieran Collins (50) top scoring while Ajami Sherwani (3-24) and Jack Rich (3-41) ere the pick of the bowlers.

Hartshead Moor v Farsley
Richard Sutcliffe (5-15) and Ryan Blackburn (3-38) helped leaders bowl out lowly Hartshead Moor for 95 as they recorded their 11th win in 13 games by five wickets.
Jonathan Ward (34) top scored for Hartshead Moor while Mohammad Atif (33) and Andrew Sims (32no) saw Farsley to their target.
Townville v Bradford & Bingley

Young spinner Reece Cockshott (5-21) impressed as second place Bradford & Bingley  dismissed Townville for 143 runs to win by 72 runs. Ian Jones (34no) proved to be the top scorer. Warren Allitt (80) and Jack Sharp (51) led the way as Bradford & Bingley made 215-7 batting first.
East Ardsley v Carlton
Third place Carlton scraped home by one wicket against relegation threatened East Ardsley. Michal Hodgkins made 59 as they edged past their opponents’ score of 157. Richard Butcher (4-40) and Steve Blow (3-55)  shared the bowling honours for East Ardsley while Hodgkins (3-31) was the best of the Carlton bowlers.
Methley v Yeadon
Jake Smart hit 92 as Methley secured a two-wicket win over Yeadon at Little Church Lane. He dominated his side’s response to Yeadon’s score of 173 and countered the threat of Abu-Bakar Siddiq (4-48). Skipper David Machell (41) was the best of the Yeadon batters while Richard Foster (5-24) proved to be Methley’s trump card with the ball.
Lightcliffe v Great Preston
Marcus Kelly produced impressive figures of 7-51 as Lightcliffe bowled out Great Preston for 186 in their six-wicket win. Danny Harwood (49no), Jamie Wills (45) were the top scorers. Lightcliffe’s innings was launched with a century opening stand between Regan Broadbent (56) and Michael Brooke (52). Jordan Pickles was 43 not out.
Baildon v Cleckheaton
George Barker (51), Jacob Terry (45no) and Haris Hussain (33no) helped Baildon chase down Cleckheaton’s score of 191-9 to win by four wickets despite the efforts of Elliot Hallas (4-61). Richard Noble (50) top scored for Cleckheaton while Sam Kelly (4-34) posed the main threat.

Northowram Fields v Sandal
Will Henshall (158no) and John Bowett (133) hit centuries as Sandal made the day’s highest score of 386-3 in their 117-run win. Henshall hit 12 sixes and 15 fours while Bowett struck four sixes and 19 fours. Henshall shared an opening stand of 110 with Usman Ilyas (47) and added 194 for the second wicket with Bowett.
The run spree continued when Northowram Fields batted. Matthew Lloyd (112no) his two sixes and 18 fours as he helped his side to make 269-7. Callum Phillipson chipped in with 41 as Ilyas proved the most successful bowler with 3-54.
Brighouse v Liversedge
Leaders Brighouse were made to work hard for their two-wicket win over Liversedge. Nabeel Janjua (55no) and Waqar Ilyas (41) helped them hold off the challenge presented by Riyaz Motala (4-25) and Louis Bentley (3-50) to overhaul the Liversedge score of 161. Ashraf Karolia (48) and Jaideep Dhangar (31), were the top scorers as Ilyas (3-22) and Zafar Mahmood (3-46) led the Brighouse bowling effort.
Wakefield St Michael’s v Ossett
Leigh Learie hit an unbeaten 59 and Ben Coulthard (43) as Ossett secured a four-wicket win. Brian Knowles (64 and Richard Fenwick (52) shared a second wicket stand of 112 for struggling Wakefield St Michael’s as their side made 171-6 batting first. Steve Coulthard took 3-46 for Ossett.
Birstall v Altofts
Lee Peters impressed with both bat and ball as Birstall recorded a five-wicket win. He took 4-27 as Altofts, despite 55no from Sam Denison, were restricted to 161-9. Peters followed up by making 84 as he and Daniel Marlow (57no) guided Birstall to their victory target. Darren Sharp (3-31) was the best Altofts bowler.
Keighley v Hopton Mills
Lucas Keslinke (67no) and Hammy Shahzad (48) guided Keighley to a five-wicket win over Hopton Mills. Gary Senior took 4-55 for Hopton Mills who made 175-9 when they batted first. Zaaid Sajwal (39) and Stephen Bland (32) were the top scorers against a bowling attack in which Mohammed Abbas took 5-50 and Louie Wilkinson (3-32).

Finley Townsend took 3-51 and scored 48 to help Scholes toa four-wicket win. Richard West (3-47) gave him support as Windhill & Daisy Hill made 191-8. Andrew Spencer (44) backed up Townsend with the bat as they secured victory despite the efforts of Phil Drake (3-36).
Gildersome & Farnley Hill v Wrenthorpe
Mick O’Halloran (94) and Jonny Walker (60no) put on 145 for the fourth wicket as Gildersome & Farnley Hill chased down a Wrenthorpe total of 232-7 to win by five wickets. Matthew Butcher (75) and Nathan Ellis (53) top scored for Wrenthorpe while on-loan Dominic Edwards (3-59) was the best Gildersome & Farnley Hill bowler.
Hunslet Nelson v Crossflatts
Hunslet Nelson closed the gap on second-place Crossflatts to 10 points after defeating them by 10 runs. Tom Brooke-Mawson (3-10) helped Nelson bowl out Crossflatts for 152 to seal their ninth win of the season. Ben Hinchcliffe made 47 but it wasn’t enough to save his side from defeat. Mohammed Iqbal (39), Jamal Khojani (37) and Tom Hendry (33) helped Hunslet Nelson to make 172-9 as the wickets were shared by Steve Broughton (3-31), Jim O’Hara (3-43) and Charlotte Boulton (3-73).
Rodley v Adwalton
Luis Sugden impressed with 6-22 as Rodley bowled out Adwalton for 90 on their way to a five-wicket win. Chris Curtis (34) was the top scorer. Rodley knocked off the runs despite the efforts of Tom Davidson (4-17).
