Hanging Heaton suffer national T20 defeat

Hanging Heaton made an early exit from this year’s ECB Vitality Clubs T20 Cup after suffering an eight-wicket defeat to hosts Woodhouse Grange in the Area Finals.

The 2018 winners were way below their best as they were dismissed for just 75. Skipper Ben Kohler-Cadmore top scored with 25 as Richard Walton (4-26) wrecked their hopes of building a challenging score.

To add to a thoroughly miserable match for Hanging Heaton, their opponents knocked off the runs in just 10.2 overs.

The North Yorkshire South Durham League side Richmondshire defeated the North East Premier League outfit South Northumberland by seven wickets to set up a final clash with Woodhouse Grange.

The Yorkshire Premier League North side made 166-5 before dismissing Richmondshire for 119 to advance to the regional final on August 29.

Hanging Heaton will be hoping to rediscover their best T20 form when they face Woodlands in the re-arranged Gordon Rigg Group A Cup final under the lights at Wagon Lane on Thursday, August 25.
