A team comprising some of the greatest names in Bradford Premier League recent history will take to the field on Friday July 1, in a T20 game against Hartshead Moor.
Six of the League’s top 20 run scorers of all time are set to appear in the same team which could pose a threat for the host's stock of cricket balls.
The team has been assembled with the help of East Bierley and Woodlands legend Murphy Walwyn, the only player in Bradford League history to take all 10 wickets in an innings, twice!
Some of the other names confirmed to show that they still have what is takes are Andrew Bairstow, James Smith, Mark Gilliver, Nick Rushworth, Neil and Mark Gill. Having taken 1014 wickets (and counting!) in his career with Spen Victoria and Hanging Heaton, John Carruthers will lead the attack.
The game has been organised to raise funds for junior cricket at Hartshead Moor and to support the local Andy’s Man Club branch, based in Cleckheaton. Andy’s Man Club are a charity set up to support men across the country with their aim to support those who have either been through a storm, are currently going through a storm or have a storm brewing in life.
The game will start at 6.30pm at Highmoor Lane, Hartshead Moor, BD19 6LW with free entry to all. Food and drink will be available throughout.
