The T20 Cup has a new sponsor for 2018 with Lancashire brewers JW Lees backing the competition.
The opening matches produced some dramatic action with holders Altofts romping to a a nine-wicket win after dismissing Great Preston for 26.
Kieron Holliday took four wickets and Craig Wood three. Altofts knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket in just 3.3 overs.
There was a tense finish at Heckmondwoke where the home side edged out Gildersome & Farnley Hill by just one run.Paul Cooper made 30 in Heckmondwike's 85 all out and took 3-11 as Gildersome were restricted to 84-9. John Edmondson returned figurs of 4-15 for the losers.
Last season's beatean finalists Sandal made an early exit as they suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Wakefield St Michael's. The Saints eased past the Sandal score of 110-9 with just three wickets down.
Rodley continued their bright start to the season with an emphatic ten-wicket win over Liversedge. Laurise Stonach hit six sixes and six fours in an unbeaten 81 as he and Rob Young (51no) powere their side past Liversedge's 126-7 in 13.1 overs. Mark Hoodall (43no) was Liversedge's top scorer.
Adwalton, another side show good early form as they passed East Ardsley's 166-7 with five wickets in hand.
