Lightcliffe's young cricketers can hold their heads high after becoming joint champions of the Yorkshire Under-19 T20 Cup
They fought their way to the final at Sheffield Collegiate on Sunday but rain curtailed their match with Beverley and it was agreed the two teams should share the trophy.
Three teams, Lightcliffe, Beverley and Wakefield Thornes fought their way through to finals day which was contested on a round robin basis.
Lightcliffe face Thornes in their first game and the wet weather led to the game being reduced to 15 overs per side.
Thornes made light of the wet conditions and scored a challenging 118-6 as Matthew Race top scored with 50.
Lightcliffe were indebted to Regan Broadbent for keeping them in the hunt with 63. The match went right down to the final ball when Shoaib Hassan kept his nerve to hit the winning single from the fin al ball as Lightcliffe triumphed by four wickets.
Against Beverley the match was reduced to ten overs by rain. Lightcliffe made 79-6 with Adam Wainwright making 31 and Jake Broadbent (31no).
Rain prevented any further play and also made it unsafe for a bowl out so the cup was shared..
