Management Board statement on the 2021 season

Despite the continuing challenges presented by Covid 19, the Management Board would like to outline its plans for the 2021 season.

Our main objective is to provide a league campaign that will see every club fielding two teams with promotion and relegation.

The 2021 season is due to start on Saturday, April 17 and will finish on September 4 for the Premier Division to facilitate the Yorkshire Premier League play-offs on September 11 and 18, and will be concluded  on September 11 for all other divisions

If we can keep to this schedule, there will be no Sunday league matches and just a Spring Bank Holiday programme for the Premier Division.

If there is a delay to the start of the season, Sundays will have to be used to enable us to achieve the objective of a full league campaign.

It is our intention to build a programme of cup competitions and T20s around the league fixtures, but we cannot schedule them until we know exactly how the league campaign maps out.

As you will appreciate, Covid 19 may well impact on the 2021 season and we have been working on back up plans if our prime objective proves impossible to deliver.
