Batley v Jer Lane

Miraj Khan produced a sparkling innings of 174 not out as leaders Jer Lane powered to a 180-run win. Khan struck nine sixes and 10 fours as he took his tally of league runs to 541for the season. He was joined in an undefeated third wicket stand of 198 by Adnan Mahmood (61no) as Jer Lane compiled a scored of 296-2. Batley were bowled out for 116 with only Sufyan Patel (40) resisting for long as Bobby Khan (3-13) and Aezaz Dar (3-54) got to work.

New Farnley v Pudsey Congs
Young bowlers Kai Watson (5-22) and Sam Barraclough (3-7) helped second place New Farnley bowl out Pudsey Congs for 71 as they cruised to a nine-wicket win. Opener Joe Pyrah dominated the New Farnley reply with 62 not out.

East Bierley v Morley
Morley recorded their first win of the season with skipper Andrew Kirkwood taking 6-83 as East Bierley were dismissed for 202 to complete a 64-run success. Sam Wilby (52) top scored for East Bierley while Gavin Goodlad (83), Alex Kennedy (77), Michael Darby (32) were responsible for guiding Morley to 266-7. Goodlad and Kennedy added 143 for the sixth wicket while Wayne Robinson (4-41) was the pick of the home bowlers.

Gomersal v Woodlands
Woodlands returned to winning ways with a four-wicket win at Oxford Road. Nathan Bromby, more noted for his bowling endeavours, led the way with the bat. He scored a
n unbeaten 94 and shared a crucial sixth wicket stand of 100 with Rob Medcalf (43). Joel Pollard picked up 3-51 for Gomersal after earlier scoring 32 in support of Tony Blain (60) as the home side made 188-8.

Pudsey St Lawrence v Bowling Old Lane
Sam Johnson hit 100 not out, an innings containing 18 fours, as he steered St Lawrence to a  five-wicket win at Birch Lane. He took control as Old Lane’s score of 144 was chased down. Abdullah Ijaz (33) top scored while Adam Frost (3-21) and Joshua Dracup (3-43) posed the main threat.

Bankfoot v Hanging Heaton
Will Rich narrowly missed out on a century as he helped champions Hanging Heaton to record an 11-run win over Bankfoot.  Rich made 98 and was supported by Bobby McFarlane (32) against a bowling attack in which Kian Phillipson (3-40) and Haroon Iqbal (3-36) enjoyed the most success. Mohammed Sudase (66) and Iqbal (30) led the Bankfoot response which saw them bowled out for 203 with Jack Rich (4-74) and Chris Goodair (3-25) doing much of the damage.

Division One
Methley v Farsley

Farsley’s stay at the top of Division One proved short lived as they crashed to an 81-run defeat at Methley. The Red Lane side were bowled out for 78 with slow bowler Robert Clegg taking 6-18. As they replied to a Methley score of 159 which included 71 from David Winter. Kasar Arshad (5-29) and Richard Sutcliffe (3-13) bowled well but their efforts went to waste when their side’s batting collapsed.

Baildon v Bradford & Bingley
Teenage bowler Reece Cockshott returned impressive figures of 7-11 as Bradford & Bingley bowled out Baildon for 89 on their way to an eight-wicket win which took them back to the top of the table. Jack Sharp (39no) and Lewis Brown (30) ensured the runs were knocked off with the minimum of fuss.

Lightcliffe v Carlton
Fourteen-year-old Ayan Zafar, above, hit his maiden century to help Lightcliffe to a 115-run win over Carlton. Zafar, whose previous best score was 48 not out, hit two sixes and 15 fours during an innings which saw him share in two century partnerships. He put on 117 for the third wicket with Finn Brookes (56) and 109 for the fourth wicket with David Knight (60) as Lightcliffe made 261-5. This is not the first time that Zafar has captured the spotlight. In 2020 as a 12-year-old he took 6-27 for Scholes against Adwalton. Carlton were bowled out for 146 with Ryan Beeforth taking 6-36. Michael Hodgkins (40) and Simon Parker (33) were their top scorers.

Yeadon v East Ardsley
Kamran Khan (5-39) and Ryan Mooney (3-14) helped Yeadon bowl out East Ardsley for 115 as they eased their relegation fears with a seven-wicket win. Veteran Simon Curry made an unbeaten 52 as Yeadon eased to victory.

Hartshead Moor v Townville
Hartshead Moor lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a convincing eight-wicket win. Will Gough (87no) and Robert Swift (70) shared an opening stand of 124 while Jack Baldwin made 52 not out as Townville’s score of 241 was overhauled. Steve Walton (55), Lee Dobson (41) and Kieran Samuels (36) were the main contributors as Louie Mitchell picked up 3-28.

Great Preston are now propping up the table after going down to an eight-wicket defeat against Cleckheaton. After Ibrahim Ahmed (4-67), Sam Bailey (3-29) and Feroz Hussain (3-32) bowled out Great Preston for 165, Elliot Hallas (78no), Scott Price (38) and Yusuf Malik (32) powered Cleckheaton to victory. Jamie Willis made 69 for Great Preston

Leaders Brighouse survived some nail-biting moments before  securing a one-wicket win. Muhammad Bajwa (67) and Shahid Farooq (32) helped them overhaul the Altofts score of 147-8 which included 67 from David Robson and 50 by Joe Ellam.

Ossett v Northowram Fields
Promotion chasing Northowram Fields suffered a setback to their hopes as they went down to a 90-run defeat to Ossett. Michael Edwards (62), Ben Coulthard (35), and Tom Jenkinson (35) helped Ossett to make 216 despite the efforts of Josh Dodd (4-26). Northowram Fields were dismissed from 126 with Luke Watson taking 5-30. James Norcliffe (39) and Callum Phillipson (31) were the top scorers.

Keighley v Undercliffe
Huzaifah Azam hit an unbeaten 104 as Undercliffe chased down a Keighley total of 232 to win by five wickets.  Azam struck three sixes and 10 fours and was backed up by Amaan Ali (42), Absar Hussain (38) and Usman Fareed (34no). Defeat was hard on Keighley’s opener Hammy Shahzad. He hit five sixes and 14 fours while making 107. Ben Wetherell (38) and Azeem Hussain (35) gave hi support while Abdul Hamid (5-28) was the best of the Undercliffe bowlers.

Liversedge v Buttershaw St Paul’s
Will Atkin smashed a stunning 192 as Liversedge scored 396-6 on their way to a 205-run win. Atkin tore into the bowling as he hit 10 sixes and 24 fours, and he was joined in a third wicket stand of 295 with Joe Shuttleworth who struck 19 fours while scoring 101. St Paul’s made 191 with Bradley Mallinson (50no) and Dan Bolland (36), leading the way against a bowling attack in which  Riyaz Motala (3-49) and Reuben Shuttleworth (3-53) led the way.

Will Henshall’s unbeaten 51 helped Sandal secure a three-wicket win. The success was set up when they bowled out Birstall for 122 with Shahroze Bukhari taking 3-19. Aamir Malik (36) was Birstall’s top scorer while Connor Teale (3-13) was the best of their bowlers.

Ben Haigh took 4-22 as Hopton Mills dismissed Wakefield St Michael’s for 121 to secure a five-run win. Luke Otley (44no) battled hard for St Michael’s but could not save them from defeat. Hopton Mills were bowled out for 126 when they batted first by Robert Taylor (4-24) and Ryan Hutchinson (3-14)

Wrenthorpe v Crossflatts
Second place Crossflatts cruised to a 10-wicket win with openers Ben Hinchcliffe (61no) and Tom Durn (28no) carrying them past Wrenthorpe’s score of 102. Skipper Nathan Ellis (51) top scored for Wrenthorpe against a bowling attack led by George Kitson (4-3) and Steve Broughton (4-31).

Tom Hendry (50no), Joshua Morris (39no), and Jamal Khojani (36) helped Hunslet nelson to an eight-wicket win. They capitalised on the earlier work of Joshua Morris (4-54) and Tom Marshall (4-27) in bowling out Adwalton for 136. Skipper Mark Palfreeman (65no) and Luke Hembrow (33) were Adwalton’s top scorers.

Skipper Peter Jackson and Razab Raja shone as Spen Victoria secured a 38-run win. Jackson made 98 to take his tally of league runs to 691 runs as he helped his side to post a score of 216-4 which featured 53 from Shazad Riaz. Rodley were bowled out for 178 with Razab Raja (6-53) impressing.
