New Farnley's clubhouse rising from the ashes

The work to rebuild New Farnley’s clubhouse after last month’s arson attack is under way.

The roof truces arrived this week and were lowered into place by a crane as the first tangible sign of the building rising from the ashes.

Next the roof felting will take place and some internal work will be done before the steel roof will be put in place.

Club chairman John Baldwin said: “It is good to be able to get going with the rebuilding work. We would like to get everything finished for Christmas, but we will just have to see how things go.”

The building work and replacing the fixtures and fitting is expected to cost around £170,000.
