Old Lane's veterans retain their title

Bowling Old Lane's over 50s cricketers have retained the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation's Grey Fox Trophy they won for the first time in 2019.

With no competition possible in 2020 due to Covi-19, Old Lane showed they had lost  one of their prowess as they defeated Helperby The Aged in the final at Scarborough on Sunday.

Replying to their opponents' score of 167, Old Lane knocked off the runs with nine overs to spare. Iqbal Khan (31) and Khalid Rehman (29) led the way with the bat, while rehman was his side's most successful bowler with 2-10.

In the Plate Final, New Farnley suffered defeat by five runs against Harden. Their opponents made 141-5 and New Farnley replied with 136.
