Statement from Heavy Woollen Cup secretary

Heavy Woollen Cup secretary Sue Roberts  has issued a statement ro clubs following the suspension of all professional and recreational cricket due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

She said: "In light of last week's announcements from the ECB, Bradford and Yorkshire South Premier Leagues tit looks highly unlikely that we will see any county or recreational cricket until the end of May at the soonest.

"This leaves us, as I am sure you have already realised, unable to play Round 1 or 2 of the Heavy Woollen Cup (19th April  & 10th May) or Round. 1 of the Crowther Cup (10th May).

"
We are currently looking at options for the competitions, should play resume in June, however, as you will appreciate, there are many other factors (amended league programmes etc) that would need to be taken into consideration.

"Can I please ask that you bear with us in these difficult and unprecedented times and await an update once we know if play can resume in June."
