Undercliffe suffered an eight wicket defeat against York when representing the Gordon Rigg Bradford Premier League in Sunday's Vitality ECB Clubs T20 North East Area final.
The 2019 league T20 Cup winners were due to compete in the competition last year but the event was cancelled due to Covid-19.
But they met their match in York and it was one of the players who helped them beat Morley in the 2019 league T20 final who sentenced them to defeat at South Northumberland Cricket Club.
Simon Lambert made an unbeaten 65 as York eased past Undercliffe's total of 112-9 to win by eight wickets. Ollie Hardaker top scored with 24 for Undercliffe.
York went on to lose the final to Barnard Castle from the North Yorkshire South Durham League by 32 runs. Barnard Castle, who had beaten the host South Northumberland by four wickets in the first semi-final, will now play in the Regional final of a competition won by Hanging Heaton in 2018.
