Woodlands and New Farnley land home semis

24 Jun 2019

Holders Woodlands have been drawn at home to Hanging Heaton in the semi-finals of the Priestley Cup.

In the second tie, Championship One side Baildon will be away to the 2017 winners New Farnley on Sunday, July 14.

While Woodlands are bidding to lift the cup for the third time in four seasons, their opponents Hanging Heaton have not won it since 1986.

Under the captaincy of Gary Fellows the Bennett Lane side have won seven trophies in the past two seasons but the Priestley Cup has so far eluded them.

For New Farnley the cup provides them with their last chance of silverware this year and they will be anxious not to underestimate a Baildon side pushing for promotion to the top flight.
